Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar is asking any interested Lebanese Jew, whether in Lebanon or abroad, to speak about their experiences in Lebanon and their lives, even those who may have never been to Lebanon. Nice work. Incredibly enough in a land of “OLD” where the 3 religions never attacked each other with the faith of the same GOD we are still struggling to have peace….I wonder why outside of that region there seems to be an understanding that man of all races and faiths are equal under the same sun. Working with all faiths never bothered the traders or business men. “what is your religion?” has never been a conditional businesss standard nor a conditional working ethic before business is done. Yet with the lack of knowledge [education] discussions [open hiwar] and forums of the sort we can never achieve an intelligent negotiated peace. we are always going to have more emotional outbursts that lead and dig back into past hurts and never achieve a balanced communication for peace.
I like this approach and I hope it leads to some dialogue. Piece by piece we can truely achieve Peace.

I did not even know there were any jewish people left in Lebanon. If I was a jew, I would never want to live in any Arab country because of the unbelievable bigotry towards Jews. They are dehumanized and despised, just for the religion that they practice. It is so unfair and shameful. I’m one Lebanese who welcome this project and hope to hear more from Lebanese Jewish people about their life in Lebanon. People need to understand that faith should be a personal choice and not a sectarian identity. Warmest regards to all fellow Lebanese who believe in a secular and free Lebanon, where people from all faiths can live peacefully together.

I am a Lebanese Jew who Grew up in Lebanon finnish PHd in Beirut and always is proud to be Lebanese , As Jews Living in Beirut Or Bhamdhoun,or Alley ,Saida or Trablous ,never had problem and was very happy and enjoying life like every citizen born in this Beautiful Country that nobody appreciate .The Bible itself and all the psalms of King Ssolomon describe and praise .
The Cedars of Lebanon is a proud to the world ,they was used to built the Glory of GOD in Jerusalem With the help of AHIRUM .
NO world could express how we miss our Country ,but political and ignorance and closeminded people push us to leave .
The lebanese people should reunite and clarify the idendity as Lebanese first before anything and never mention religion again, this is how they could live together again as one people under God Indivisible,with prosperity and dignity.

The Jews of Lebanon are Lebanese Citizens with full rights and responsibilities. It is our shame that we have scared them off.
I suggest that all Lebanese In the Diaspora register in the Lebanese Embassies all over the world in order to reclaim their identity and voting rights, as well as property rights.
Many, almost all, religious and ethnic groups in Lebanon have suffered from ethnic cleansing during the Dirty War imposed on Lebanon by powerful foreign powers. We must all understand that we have been victimized and our leaders were not intelligent enough to realize this sad fact.
I fully support the rights of the Jews of Lebanon and their descendants.
